How do you check if two containers have the same capacity?

That was a question we investigated in Maths today. We found two containers we thought might have the same capacity. We filled one with water then poured its contents into the second container.

We found that the second container has a greater capacity because the contents of the first did not fill it. Naturally, we wanted to see what would happen if we filled the larger container and poured its contents into the smaller container. We thought it might overflow, but we wanted to check anyway.

We will be doing lots more investigating this week.
Thank you for your outstanding photography Miss Darcy!!
