MATHS HOME ACTIVITY: Creating and Continuing Patterns

What can you use at your house to make and continue a pattern?
Could you use 3 or 4 different coloured lego blocks? Maybe you could find a 2 or 3 different leaves.
You could use pegs, pasta, fruit, pencils or textas.

Make a pattern that has 3 or 4 elements to it, then continue that pattern.

Tell us all about what you made in the comments section below.
I wonder if you could attach a photo of what you did....

  6. Olivia worked out that she could make a pattern by stomping her foot, then clapping her hands, then tapping her head and finally tapping her knees.
She repeated the pattern several times.
Olivia made another pattern by drawing different shapes and then adding colour to the shapes.

  8. Coin patterns are lots of fun because of the different sizes and the two colours. Great choice Darcy!
