Vacuum Candle Experiment

What does fire need?
Fuel, oxygen and ignition.
So what happens if we place a lit candle in a bowl of water?
Nothing. The candle continues to burn.
What happens when you limit the amount of oxygen it has by placing a vase over the top?

When the candle uses all of the oxygen that is inside the vase, it begins to suck from the only gap there is, pulling the water inside.
Once the flame has used all of the oxygen it is extinguished.
